10.000 € Award for energy projects in sub-Saharan Africa

The POWEO Foundation Award awards energy projects with 10,000 Euros in sub-Saharan Africa. Deadline for applications: September 30, 2010.

The POWEO Foundation Award is designed to reward activities carried out by small private operators (small businesses, cooperatives, economic interest grouping (EIG) or associations, independent) promoting the production or distribution of renewable energy or improving energy efficiency for the benefit of disadvantaged people in sub-Saharan Africa.

Consulting firms, manufacturers, distributors, promoters and other service providers are eligible, however their activities should promote energy access in sub-Saharan Africa. The POWEO Foundation Awards 2010 gives prizes based on the following categories:

  • A “Grand Prix FE Poweo” for all types of candidates
  • A “Woman Award” that distinguishes women leaders and company founders.
  • A “Co-Development Award “for an action initiated by migrants living in France or resettled in sub-Saharan Africa.

Prizes winners will receive EURO 10,000.
