Climate change negotiations are like turtles

A New Life in My HandRumour has it that the COP 16 President, Patricia Espinosa, invited all Ministers attending the COP16 negotiations to a nice dinner on the beach on the weekend.

After the dinner, Ms Espinosa asked everyone to take off their shoes and walk with her on the beach. After a short stroll they arrived at a turtle nest with many newly born little turtles. Ms Espinosa gave each Minister a little turtle to set free in the ocean, upon which one of the Ministers said: these negotiations are like turtles: long-living and slow moving…
