RE & EE Events Listing supplemental: EU Sustainable Energy Week

Not long now till EU Sustainable Energy Week. This is clearly a biggie for those of us in this part of the world so I’m bringing you a supplemental Events Listing on REEEP’s official EUSEW side event and the big energy efficiency gathering taking place in Brussels.

Exporting energy efficient building technology and services: the opportunity for EU businesses

Not just one event but three! REEEP Energy Efficiency Coalition’s official EUSEW Side Event is on Wednesday 13th April in Brussels and is split into three separate sessions:

  • Nanotechnology as driver for building EE – “Really? nanotechnology in buildings?” I hear you say. Yes, the future’s already here and Mexico’s leading housing developer, Urbi, and BASF will discuss the use of European nanotechnology and other energy efficiency innovations in low-energy buildings in Mexico.
  • Geothermal heating and ventilation technology – covering the application of European geothermal technology in China by Enercret
  • City planning for energy efficiency – speakers from Foster + Partners and Masdar will discuss master planning for maximum energy efficiency.

Attendance is free but N.B. the side event takes place in an EU building so you need to register with a piece of identity to gain access. Each session is listed separately on the EU website so you can register for the one that most interests you, or all three. The deadline for registration is 7th April – just one week from today. Further details here.

And don’t miss this one…

Since you’ll be in Brussels for the REEEP events 😉 you can take the opportunity to attend EE Global, run by REEEP Partner Organisation the Alliance to Save Energy, which is taking place on 12-14 April. There’s a impressive Line-Up of Speakers that includes EU Commissioner of Energy, Günther Oettinger, the U.S. Ambassador to Finland, Bruce Orek, and former Colorado Governor Bill Ritter.

There’s also a Solutions Showcase, which will be packed with leading energy efficiency innovators and product manufacturers. You can join them in showcasing your organisation’s work and apparently it’s easy and inexpensive due to a new “turnkey” kiosk, so participating is as simple as purchasing your space and showing up on April 12th with a laptop and promotional materials. Reserve your kiosk today by emailing Erin Harper at eharper@ase.org

I’ll have a regular Events Listing for you next week – back on schedule.
