REEEP is offering an Communications Internship
Hiring Period:
Mon, 7 April until Fri, 8 August 2014 (4 months)
REEEP International Secretariat, Vienna International Center, Vienna, Austria
600 € (gross) per month, full – time basis (flexible working hours may be considered)

  • Full time availability;
  • Currently enrolled student or recent graduate in a relevant university program;
  • Demonstrated interest in REEEP mission and areas of engagement, including energy (specifically renewable energy and efficiency), environment, sustainability,
  • international development, public policy, etc.
  • Interest in global media and public information scenes, particularly online;
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office;
  • Experience with content management system(s) a distinct advantage;
  • Excellent (native speaker-level) English required; other languages an advantage;
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English; experience editing texts written by non-native speakers of English an advantage;
  • Ability to work in an international team and to meet tight deadlines;
  • Strong project management skills;
  • Appreciates the vital role of administrative tasks;

Assignments can vary depending on the strategic needs of the organization, but the intern’s responsibilities will include some of the following:
  • Working as part of the Communications team to support REEEP secretariat and project communications and media outreach;
  • Contributing articles, blurbs, event entries, etc. to REEEP communications products and channels;
  • Reviewing and  taking ownership of the REEEP communications database, ensuring contacts are up to date and providing research where necessary to create new engagement opportunities;
  • Monitoring of global news agenda on key topics and regular reporting on coverage;
  • Maintaining a dynamic calendar of REEEP event engagement, as well as external events to enhance communications planning;
  • Planning, promotion and coordination of REEEP outreach around conferences and events;
  • Other ad hoc research work and administrative tasks
Additional Information:
REEEP employees are exempt from Austrian work permit obligations, but must have a valid residence permit or visa.
REEEP cannot financially support any relocation costs or other expenses during the application period.
